The nominations for the 2008 Constellation Awards have been announced and have recognized the “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” film and actress Emma Watson for awards. First, Miss Watson was nominated in the category of ‘Best Female Performance in a 2007 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series’ for her role as Hermione Granger in the fifth film. The next nomination went to the fifth film for its achievements in costuming in the category of ‘Best Technical Accomplishment in a 2007 Science Fiction Film or Television Production.’ Jany Temime, the costume designer for OotP, received this nomination for the film.

The Telegraph has a new feature online this evening, listing the 100 Most Powerful People in British Culture. The paper selected this list of individuals based on their contribution and influence of the arts in Britain, noting this list ‘shows the depth of talent and level of commitment to the arts in this country and reflects its importance in our national life.’ Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling was placed at number fourteen on the list. The newspaper says this of Jo, and of her influence of the arts in Britain:

Harry Potter brought her fame and fortune, and she in turn has given a break to the British film industry, by insisting the films of her books be shot in Britain with an all-British cast. The letter comes on the eve of Global Dady for Darfur, marking the fifth anniversary of the conflict, and is signed by 14 children’s authors from North America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, demanding action from the international community.

Bloomberg reports that JKR was given the award by UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown who said “She has joined a distinguished line of British authors whose work has got the whole country reading,’’ Brown said in a presentation speech made available before tonight’s ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Her books “will be read for many years to come by successive generations,’’ he said. He continued noting “She has been incredibly generous with her time and her money supporting some of the U.K.’s most deserving charities, but always in a quiet way,’’ he said in the prepared remarks.”

two new characters had been cast for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. A new interview is now online where one of the actors mentioned, Tom Moorcroft, confirms his role in the sixth Harry Potter film, and also discusses his role as Regulus Black. While the young actor is unable to speak to any great detail of his exact scene, he does confirm he worked only one day, and is uncertain if he will be called back as Regulus for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Of interest to fans is a mention of how the character of Regulus Black will be seen in Half-Blood Prince. As it is a slight movie spoiler, please scroll down to read more.

Emma's dine/wine with fame and fashion...
No other event in town was more exclusive than the cocktail party marking the store opening last night. Well, the dinner that followed the cocktail party marking the store opening was more exclusive, so much so that it was only A-listers and socialites, no press thank you very much, but the drinks party was a very intimate affair: Ghesquiere, of course, Emma Watson, Bee Schaffer, Charlotte Gainsbourg, shoe designer Pierre Hardy and make-up artist Pat McGrath… and me! Oh there were other journos in the room, but they don’t count because I highly doubt they love Balenciaga as much as I do. Except maybe Emma Watson, “I have never met the designer before, but I can’t wait. I’m wearing Balenciaga top-to-toe.”

JKR on more HP?
I would really be looking at ten years before I could honestly go back. For my own mental health. Because it’s been horrendous saying goodbye to him. For seventeen years, this was THE constant in my life, Harry. Through 17 quite turbulent years. And to actually finish it was… well it’s elating. Fifty percent pure elation, fifty percent devastation. I couldn’t, I kept thinking I’m not going to write in that world again. It hit me very hard. So I do need to... it’s like an old boyfriend, we can’t be friends at the moment, we need a break, and then, when time has gone, we can have a coffee, be formal...

the official engagement?
Daniel Radcliffe and Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson have announced that they are officially dating.
This news comes on the heels of their romantic outing in February that had the internet a buzz with gossip of a supposed pair.(daily telegraph)
An insider close to the couple told us that the couple had been dating on and off since the middle of the third film The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
It was only during the forth film did the pair start hiding their relationship from their other co-stars.
one source close to the stars told us that they could still see they had feelings for each other. The Source also says that in between takes the couple was often seen hiding behind trailors kissing passionately.

HP anime?is it true?
an agreement between Warner Bros., JK Rowling and Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, has been reached for the development of a Harry Potter anime TV series to air on ABC Family in the U.S. starting in the fall of 2012.
Although they have not yet been made public, HPANA has learned that the basic concept drawings have Harry looking a bit like a young Goku (without the tail); Dumbledore looks like a cross between Master Roshi and Bulma's father; and Hagrid looks a bit like Dragon Ball Z's Ox King.
Rowling has apparently requested some minor changes be made to the renderings before they are released. We will, of course, post copies here as soon as they are made available.

The supernatural thriller will tell the tale of Emma, a beautiful apparition from an 18th century shipwreck who wanders present-day Lulworth Cove.
She falls passionately in love with a man called Robbie, only for him to later leave and find a new love.
Emma sets out to destroy Robbie's marriage to Zara - and keep him for herself.
Executive producer Ray Stokes, who wrote the novel the film is based on, said director John McCormack is in discussions with Miss Gellar.
He said: "We needed somebody reasonably high--profile in order to secure distribution. It's down to the people who are funding us. It's an American company so they wanted somebody who is internationally successful and American."
